:) ello!

So we got a call from president last night about transfers! Elder Rigby is staying to train, and President told me he had a special assignment for me...who knows maybe I will go to a Spanish area or something! I have no idea what to expect! I’ll let you all know next week :)
It will be hard to leave this area, this last week we started out with one investigator committed and now we have 5, with another progressing and 8 other investigators! We are also meeting with 10 or so less actives a week! It has been awesome and I will miss it! But I know we are meant to go where the lord intends for us to go!
So an interesting experience last week, I got to go on exchanges to the Spanish are in south bend (supper ghetto) and we had some appointments and they understood Portuguese, so I started to help give the lessons in Portuguese and Spanish! It was so sweet! My heart longs to teach in Portuguese, when I do there is a different spirit that I feel that I can’t explain! But I know just as the apostle Paul states to the romans that trials a tribulations worked patience and brunet experience! My time will come to go to Brazil but it is not this day! I love being a missionary wherever we serve! I still wish I would have been involved with this sacred work when I was home!
But a funny experience! We were in a Spanish home and I heard all about the new endowment video...we were trying to stop her and tell her that we shouldn’t talk about it...but every time we would she would stop us. I finally asked her if I could use the bathroom and if she could show me where it was... good thing she got side tracked easily! Ha-ha man! Needless to say I know the video will be amazing!

But we were able to give talks in church yesterday and part of my talk was based off of something elder Ballard said about missionary experiences! He said when finding someone for the missionaries to teach, don’t think of people to have them teach, rather set a deadline up ahead and pray for the lord to place someone in your path. As you do that you will always find someone for the missionaries to teach, if you are prepared and willing to have faith! Such an amazing promise I know that is true it happens every day as a missionary, but I have come to realize that it too can happen when I am not set a part as an elder! Man I love being able to serve my father and my savior! I could not ask for anything else! I have found myself but more importantly I have found my father and savior! And it will forever change me!

I love you all! Thank you for everything! Love,
Elder Loveless

:) Up here in the outskirts of the Indiana mission!

Elder Rigby and Elder Loveless
So, Elder Rigby is awesome! He is from Layton, Utah, and is in his last week of training now! He is awesome and is a really good teacher! I’m excited to work with him :) love the Elder!

So...it really is huge up here! We have about 7 different main towns to work in in the Niles area, and each is about 30-45 minutes from our home, but it is awesome! We are working a lot with less actives and helping them feel of our Fathers love again. It is so sad to see others fall away. It is so important for all to know that it is not only us as members that want them back but our savior is pleading for them to come back. That is why missionaries and home teachers are so important in the work of the Lord! We need to find the 1 lost sheep and bring them back to the love that they have been missing.

We had an awesome lesson with a new investigator Tasha! It was awesome we established our purpose and taught her about the Book of Mormon. She accepted it, and she accepted the invitation to be baptized! I can’t even begin to describe the joy that comes from knowing that someone is willing to follow our Savior. When people say it feels as if someone is ripping my heart out and smashing it! It is so sad to see others decline the gospel.

Hoooooolly cow there are a ton of Seventh Day Adventists up here...yup!

In my reading this morning I was reading in Alma 29, and I to feel as Alma does that I could "speak with a voice of thunder." sometimes I wish we could just shake people to wake them up with a voice of thunder. It is so sad to see others reject our savior. But later on he describes how much he has seen success. Not just of himself but success of others! Oh how I love seeing others come unto Christ! I love working with less actives and helping them see what they are missing or haven't seen before! What a beautiful opportunity we have to be on the earth in this day in age and help others see the light not the darkness!

Love you all so very much!

"Elder Holland came to a stake here in Indiana, president told us what he said,” the future of the church in Indiana is in your hands. Open your mouth and talk to everyone."" that is how it should be throughout the world. We all need to be bolder in opening our mouths of the restored gospel :) that is our calling as members."

Michigan!

Aug 12, 13

So crazy experience last night... I was kneeling down and ending a fast, and I was praying that Elder Eller and Elder Priest and anyone else that is waiting for their visas that whatever the problem was that it would be cleared up...well right as I finished that part the phone rang by my head and it was President Cleveland...my heart dropped... he said, "Hello Elder Loveless, I wish this was about your visa, but it’s not. We have an assignment for you, Elder Switzer is coming this Wednesday and an elder is going home 2 weeks early for school and we need you to pack up your things and bring them on Wednesday. You will be training Elder Rigby until you go to Brazil. You will for sure be here till the end of the transfer. You will be in the Southbend zone, serving in Niles, Michigan. Guess you will be serving in three places.” I love President Cleveland. I am so excited to be able to serve in that area until I leave. It is going to be so hard to leave the people I have grown to love so much here in greenwood. It feels as if someone is ripping my heart out. I feel very fortunate to be his servant where ever I go.

So we had a really good week last week, we found 2 new investigators, and we have one working towards baptism. It is so amazing to see the work go forward and progress the way it is. I love being able to talk to everyone we see and share the profound message of the restored gospel and the eternal blessing from our dear Savior! I came to a scripture that touched my heart, it is in 3 Nephi 5: 13 "Behold, I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I have been called of HIM to declare HIS word among HIS people, that they might have everlasting life." how profound is that. I will regret it every day for not being a missionary when I was at home. We are all called to this work some of us are blessed to dedicate 18 months to 2 years to declare His word, but what I have looked over is we are called to declare his word our entire life. Our Father and Savior have done more for us than we can ever comprehend, and I know I can do more. Sharing the Gospel may seem difficult at first or can be scary, but I have not once had any regret to share my testimony of the blessings of the Gospel. Even to those who reject it. How great is our calling!

Well I have some packing to do, and some goodbyes to make! Love you all! Thank you so much for all that you do for me.

'ello Everyone

So we had a really good week! We found a lot of potentials and some people that are very hopeful. Crazy thing happened though, we were looking for a street to tract till an appointment. We went to a particular street, and we felt impressed to go to only one house. We went there, and it turned out to be a former investigator that we have been searching for. She was wanting to talk with us, and needed a blessing so we are meeting with her tomorrow! It is so touching and amazing to see His hand in all things when we are obedient and strive to do His will! I love the spirit and our Savior and Father for all they do to guide us each day! :)

Funniest story...seriously it is awesome. So Elder Howell has been trying to figure out why his whole mission (14 months) that he is wide awake in the morning and in the afternoon he is dead tired and irritable. Well come to find out that his vitamins are one a day "energy". We looked on the back and come to see that it is 90 milligrams of caffeine. "Equivalent to a cup of coffee." our companion has been addicted to caffeine for 14 months! Hahahahahahaha! It was so funny! He went cold turkey the next day....let’s just say he has been exhausted the past few days! Ha-ha so funny! Now he can relate to investigators struggling to give up coffee, he is struggling to give up vitamins! Ha-ha.

Well I had a very touching study yesterday, I was reading in the end of Matthew, and when the angel appears to Mary and says, "He is not here, for he is risen." The spirit engulfed my whole soul and it was such a precious truth that was taught to me. He lives. I know it and I have felt it in my everyday life as a missionary. Also came across a quote from the quorum of the 12, "Of all titles of respect and honor and admiration that are given to deity, He has asked us to address Him as Father." How profound is that. Our Father has asked us to call Him buy his calling, our Father. That is one of the greatest doctrines we will ever be able to preach or understand that He is our Father, and we ARE His Children. Every time I say that I feel His spirit fill me up! I love being a missionary!

Sorry this is so long, but I wanted to share something that Zach gave to me in a letter, it was about 2 months ago he was baptized, but he said to me, "it has been so amazing to have been taught about the Savior and His Father by you. Words cannot express how grateful I am to the Father for putting you in Indiana. Yelling at you guys as you walked away that first day, was a prompting of the spirit, and I am so glad I listened to that prompting." All I can say is I am eternally in debt to my Father in Heaven to be placed in this part of his vineyard to be put in this great man’s path. I love being able to serve where ever the Lord wants me. I know I’m not in Brazil yet, but that does not matter, what matters is there are people here that are still blessing my life and are teaching me.

I love you all, I love this work with all my heart,
Love you family and friends,

Elder Loveless
